Indications
The liposomal Iron specially formulated for newborns: Iron is the most abundant mineral in the blood; it is present in every living cell.Iron is the main component of hemoglobin, which is contained in red blood cells, and is responsible of bringing oxygen to all body cells. The need for iron is increased throughout a child’s development so that an appropriate supply of this mineral is key to encourage a healthy growth.The iron in Bilifer is contained within a phospholipidic liposomal membrane, meaning that it is highly bioavailable. The liposomal technology employed in the production of Bilifer fully prevents the side effects commonly associated with other iron supplements, such as heartburn, irritated intestines, and discoloration of the mucosal tissue.
Contraindication
Avoid using this product in case of hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, hemolytic anemia or known hypersensitivity to any ingredients of this product.People with normal iron levels should not take iron supplement permanently.Accidental and excessive iron intake can cause poisoning in children, the product should be kept out of reach of children.To ensure correct consumption of the product,use the calibrated dropper provided in this pack.
How to Use
1ml of the solution per day (equivalent to 7 mg iron) orally or as directed by the doctor.shake well before each use.
Pharmacological and Clinical Effects
Iron deficiency is prevalent in children up to 3 years in developing countries.In this age group, there is a vital need for iron for growth and development of the brain as well as the production of red blood cells.In the long term, iron deficiency can cause problems in physical growth, neural, mental, cognitive and behavioral development and memory of children.Bilifer® is an iron drop supplement in wihch iron ions are carried within a phospholipid and sucrose esters of fatty acid membrane and liposomes containing iron are absorbed intact from the intestine. Iron has better stability in the liposomal formulation,since iron within the liposomal structure is easily absorbed through the intestinal wall cells, its absorption and bioavailability is also improved, and due to the lack of direct contact of iron molecules with the gastroinestinal tract, this product does not have the common digestive side effects of iron, its bad taste and staining the teeth.
Side Effects
Bilifer ® does not cause common side effects of other iron drops due to the fact that iron ions are carried within the liposomal structure and are not in direct contact with the gastrointestinal mucosa but long-term consumption of high-dose iron can lead to iron poisoning.
Use With Other Drugs
Unlike other iron products, this product does not interfere with drugs such as anti-acids, H2 blockers and proton pump inhibitors due to its Liposomal and non-ionic nature and consumption interval of at least 2 hours is not necessary. Liposomal iron has less interference with food and can be consumed with dairy products.
Precaution and Warning
